
Mitra E Mehin OD, FAAO
Dr. Mitra Mehin has been a dedicated optometrist since 2000, providing over two decades of clinical expertise and compassionate patient care. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of British Columbia, earning a degree in Microbiology and Immunology in 1995. She then graduated from the New England College of Optometry and completed clinical rotations at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. Following her training, Dr. Mehin continued her early career at the prestigious Shiley Eye Center at the University of California, San Diego. She has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry since 2000 and has served communities across British Columbia since 2008. Dr. Mehin is a Director of the Kourosh and Patricia Mehin Foundation. She brings valuable experience from her previous fundraising work with the Canadian Diabetes Association and is committed to advancing the Foundation’s mission to improve community health and well-being. Under her leadership, the Foundation focuses on three core pillars: preventative health, education, and cultural preservation. Deeply connected to her heritage, Dr. Mehin is committed to preserving the Persian language, culture, and traditions, recognizing their significance to Canada’s diverse and vibrant Persian community. Outside of her professional role, Dr. Mehin enjoys exercise, the outdoors, attending musical events, and spending time with her family and friends.
